The Strategic Communication: Navigating Policy and Politics in a Competing Information Environment convening is set for July 1-2, 2015, in Denver, Colorado. The meeting will include opportunities for participants to hear from state education agency (SEA) leaders and colleagues about their communication experiences and to work with communication experts to examine vital communication areas such as leadership and politics, policy and implementation, internal and external dissemination, gaining stakeholder support, and steps SEAs should follow to align communication processes with priorities.
Presenters will include the following:
The meeting immediately follows the Education Commission of the States (ECS) National Forum on Educational Policy, making it easy for participants to attend both meetings. This year's ECS convening represents its 50th anniversary, and a great opportunity to celebrate and learn about the accomplishments of ECS over time. Additionally, the ECS sessions will address important start and transitions points from Pre-K through post-graduation, dive into important issues about teacher preparation, discuss education systems across the globe, and provide the experienced perspective from state leaders about the implementation of new state standards.
